$60,000.00

The Catholic Foundation awarded $13,000 to this cause on June 5th at the Foundation's annual dinner.  The funds were to assist the Committee in expanding the outreach and formation program to other parishes.

   

Poor Clare Sisters Renovation Grant

$51,000.00

Funds were donated by the Catholic Foundation Board of Directors to help establish a cloistered order in Pueblo to pray for the needs of our diocese.

 
Dr. Gerald D. Reilly Memorial Fund - Los Pobres Center, Avondale $17,000.00

The Los Pobres Center located in Avondale aid migrant workers with food, clothing and shelter.  June 5, 2005 at the Annual Catholic Foundation dinner and silent auction, they awarded $5,000.00 to this cause.

 
Saint Joseph Parish, Monte Vista $3,555.00
This parish began a Nursing Program to help those in need of medical attention.  This parish was awarded $3,000 to assist in establishing this program.

Saint Francis Parish, Lamar $2,500.00
Funds were awarded to this parish, which assists migrant workers with everyday living needs.
   
Saint Patrick Church, Telluride $1,500.00

Saint Patrick Church was awarded $1,500 at the June 5th Silent Auction & Dinner.  The funds are to be used to purchase bi-lingual materials.

   
Saint Columba Parish, Durango $1,500.00
The funds were used to assist parishioners recovering from surgery.
   
Saint Mary Food Bank, Montrose $1,000.00
Funds were awarded in  2001 to purchase items  to restock their food bank. 
   
Sacred Heart Church, Avondale $1,000.00

This parish was awarded $1,000 on June 5, 2005.  The funds are to be used to purchase bi-lingual materials for children attending religious education classes.

   
Tri-Parish Youth Ministry $500.00

In May 2002, funds were awarded to this ministry to assist the Rainbows Program which supports families impacted by loss.

   
Saint Mary Parish, Montrose $445.00
Funds were awarded to assist those who needed rent and utility assistance.
 

Helen Brady Estate Fund

Saint Paul the Apostle Church in Pueblo West is in the process of building a new church.  This Estate Fund was set up to assist in building a new church in the Pueblo Community.  On June 5th Rev. J. William Huber was presented a grant in the amount of $10,000.

   
Sophia Nigro Fund $15,000.00

The donor designated this fund to be used for the needs of Saint Mary Parish, Walsenburg.

   
Our Lady of Fatima Mission, Olathe $8,400.00

Funds were used to purchase bi-lingual sacramental preparation materials and to purchase tables and chairs for use in classrooms - the chairs will also be used in Sunday Worship. Fencing materials were purchased to encircle the parish grounds ensuring the safety of children.

   
Sacred Heart Parish, Alamosa $6,000.00

On June 5, 2005 at the Annual Catholic Foundation Dinner and Silent Auction, the Foundation awarded this parish $5,000 to purchase a van to transport youth and others to Diocesan deanery events.  Previous grants were used to refurbish furniture in the parish meeting room.

   
Saint Francis Xavier Church $9,000.00
This parish was presented a grant in the amount of $5,000 to refurbish an existing handicapped ramp to the church to meet the standards of the American Disability Act.
   
Cathedral of the Sacred Heart $5,000.00
to repair tempered glass for Assumption of Mary into Heaven window.
   
Saint Francis Jerome Parish $5,000.00
On June 5th this parish was awarded $5,000 to install a handicapped access to the church. 
   
Saint Joseph Parish, Monte Vista $7,025.00
This parish had water damage in the front of the church; funds were awarded to help pay for the repairs, install gutters and drains; financial assistance for administration needs.
   
Saint Agnes Mission, Saguache $8,000.00

In May 2004 this mission was presented with a grant in the amount of $4,000 for materials needed for restoration at the parish and to establish an apartment that will be used by the priests when on site.

For several repairs to the church and offices.
   
Sacred Heart Parish, Avondale $3,650.00

Funds were used to purchase bi-lingual sacramental preparation materials as well as assisting parishioners with rent, utilities and medical bills.

   
Saint Anne Parish, Pueblo $3,500.00

Funds were awarded in 2002 and 2004 to assist with upkeep and upgrade of the parish as well as to aid in construction of a handicapped ramp.

   
Saint Margaret Mary Parish, Hotchkiss $3,500.00

At the Catholic Foundation Annual Dinner that was held on June 5, 2005 this parish was presented with a grant in the amount of $3,000 to help defray costs of installing a new roof on the church.

   
Immaculate Conception Mission, Creede $3,200.00

This mission received $3,200 on June 5th to replace 30 year old furnaces.  This will assist the parish facility operating costs significantly lower and insure a safe environment for parishioners.

   
Lay Ministry Fund $3,000.00

In May 2004 the Catholic Foundation awarded $3,000 to assist with scholarships for lay ministry training.

   
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Antonito $2,500.00
These funds were used to assist in parish administration.
   
Saint Joseph Parish, Capulin $2,500.00

In 2001 and 2002 funds were awarded to provide energy efficient fireplace insert with a blower system in the parish large meeting room.  Funds also provided for half of cost of graveling the parking lot.

   
Holy Rosary Parish, Pueblo $3,580.00

The Catholic Foundation provided half the cost to air condition Holy Rosary Church.

Funds were awarded to this parish to repair leaks in the parish hall and for religious education materials for the parish and mission parishes.

Seminarian Formation
and Education Grant

Each year the Vocation's Director, Deacon Jake Shafer,  assesses the needs of the seminarians and projects the costs involved.   The Catholic Foundation, including the Bishop, takes the information and tries to meet that need with the funds designated.  In 2005, $80,000 was awarded. In 2006 $111,000 was awarded to the Diocese of Pueblo.
